Big Eddie, Armed & Beautiful

The 80s and the early 90s were a great time to be a muscle fan, with lots of mags available and TV coverage where we could see muscles in motion and even savor them later if we captured them on our VCRs. The best part of the era was the guys themselves, seemingly bigger than ever, yet still attractive and with distinctive physiques (long before all the baldness & bloating). Having absorbed early on the beach muscle dreams spread by Weider, et al, I was always drawn to golden boy jocks like Lance Dreher, Jeff King, and Matt Mendenhall but had to settle for extensive study of their magazine photos. I recall seeing Eddie Robinson in MTI when he won the Teen America, and he was an instant fave, especially with his insane arms. A year or so later, I was thrilled to see him featured at length in this clip on the weekly cable show that was a special godsend for the muscle-obsessed. Eddie remains an all-time favorite, with his blond good looks, his charm, and that incredible body. In this vid, the focus is on his gargantuan arms, and they are still amazing to watch, but I love the way his gigantic pecs rise and fall with the dumbbell flyes. And those huge lats splayed across the bench are definitely worth further examination (his big back is displayed nicely in other vids online, along with his awesome ass). Also, you get a glimpse of his massive legs, which are quite memorable in their own right, practically bursting out of his tight baby-blue shorts. What a gorgeous man! His overall development was so complete and was in many ways the culmination of an era.
