Many if not most of the greatest heartthrobs of the Golden Age of physique photography (& Bishop was one) were fitness model types, not competitive bbs. And if 'homophobic,' he must have been selectively so, since the respect & gratitude he always showed the elderly admirer who put him through chiropractic school is well documented.
