Little big man

Gable Paul Boudreaux (b. 1942) wasn't a very big guy (5'5" 165lb.) but he stood tall in the weightlifting world of the mid-1960s. Rejected
in his teens by the Navy as "underweight and anemic," he left his native Louisiana for L. A., trained under Vince Gironda, and, following
Rheo H. Blair's special protein regimen ("a rather pleasant way of piling on muscular flesh with minimal effort"), was soon competing against the big boys. After an impressive series of wins, including the Pro IPBA Mr Los Angeles in 1967, he did two posing sessions for AMG--combined here into a single clip. (Bob Mizer, ever the erratic speller, got his name wrong in the title card.) The symbols assigned him in the AMG 'character' analysis describe an affable but incontrovertibly straight arrow (just like his training buddy, Larry Scott); and since Bob seems never to have pimped him out to anyone, this clip doesn't belong in the 'Golden Age of Trade' series.

Gable has a magnificent body!! This is another great old film from Bob Mizer's AMG! Bob has long been "St. Bob" to me!!

Oh Yes!! The posing pouch. I personally cannot see why present day competitions and competitors who wear such skimpy posers do not revert to Ye Olde Posing Pouch. Surely it makes sense....

You've done us all another huge favor by posting yet another awesome vintage clip. This guy is awesome. And not one-but TWO--posing pouches! Thanks!!

As we all know, some of these 'compact' types are the ones who are packin' the most.
But it really wouldn't matter in this case.
Gabe was a super-handsome, radiantly manly guy.

Loved seeing him in the muscle "mags." Just seeing his name would conjure up anticipation. Thanks!

I should have pointed out that from 03:30 on Gabe shucks the trunks in favor of not just one posing pouch, but two--the second of which looks decidedly "promise-pack'd."
