Before Frank DeFeo, there was his great-Uncle Sal, who, starting in the mid 50s, posed for many photographers, including AMG's Bob Mizer. Actually, despite the uncanny resemblance, LOU MARSHALL was unrelated to the Tank--an Italian kid from the Bronx who worked out while studying electrical engineering and was featured in the skin books of the day. Clearly off-season (OK, downright porky) when he wrestled Barry Maurer for this AMG loop, Lou struggled with lingering puppy-fat and displayed the same stilted yet endearingly high-handed manner as his current look-alike. (I'm also going to post a photo which may help explain Lou's--if not the Tank's--breezy self-confidence.)

I love that big hairy body on Lou Marshall! I never could wrestle worth beans, but would have been VERY happy to roll around with him!! ; -)
