I may be wrong here but Schwarzenegger always struck me as the straight mens bodybuilder - amazing physique but somehow not that appealing to gay men - a bit like John Wayne in the movies. I am not knocking Arnie - I have a lot of admiration for a man who becomes that successful at whatever he turns his mind to.
