This is actually a scene from the 1973 film "The Long Goodbye" directed by Robert Altman and starring Elliot Gould as Philip Marlowe, with Sterling Hayden, Arnold in a small role and Nina Van Pallandt and based on the Raymond Chandler novel. Not a bad film but Gould is miscast in my opinion. The 1946 version of The Big Sleep with Bogie and Bacall is still the most fun film made from a Chandler novel to date.
